How do I find a journal's impact factor? 

  • Go to https://libguides.rcsi.ie/az.php> Web of Science
  • From the Search Page click on ‘Journal Citation Reports’
  • From the ‘Journal Citation reports’ page you can search for journals in the master search box or browse by category/year/publisher or region.
  • Search for the journal needed from the search box e.g. ‘British Medical Journal’. A report will be generated within which you can find the journal’s Impact Factor
  • You will find other measures of  a Journal’s performance on SCOPUS
 
How do I find high impact journals in a particular field?
  • Go to https://libguides.rcsi.ie/az.php> Web of Science
  • From the Search Page click on ‘Journal Citation Reports
  • From the ‘Journal Citation reports’ home page click on ‘Browse by category’. 
  • You will be presented with a list of subject categories. Click on the subject you are interested in and you will find impact factor, as well as additional data, for the last number of years.
