Research Support

Welcome to RCSI Library's Libguide to Research Support.

RCSI Library provides a variety of supports for researchers, including access to a wide range of resources and services.

We provide access on and off-campus to the principal and specialist databases in biomedicine and healthcare and to a wide selection of e-journals.

We are happy to advise you on gathering bibliometric data and citation analysis, increasing your research visibility and choosing a journal to publish in. We can support you also on making your research open access by depositing your research in the RCSI's institutional repository, e-publications@RCSI.

The RCSI Supporting Researchers Lunchtime Workshop series includes a number of workshops on these topics.

We have produced a short guide to increasing your impact - also available in the Guides and Resources for Researchers topic on Moodle.

Literature Searching

Systematic literature reviews are important study types in certain research areas. See Information Seeking and Library Skills on Moodle for guides to evidence based review methods and resources. You will also find the RCSI Library Guide to Searching for Studies for Systematic Reviews there.

The Library provides consultancy and support services for such projects - contact for more information.

EndNote is a reference management package and the Library organises periodic beginner training courses for researchers. EndNote support material is available in the Information Seeking and Library Skills module on Moodle.

EndNote is licensed for RCSI students and staff - contact IT Dept for more information on downloading the software. EndNote Online is a web version that can be used with the desktop version: register for it while on-campus by creating an account on Web of Science. Find Web of Science on the Library's Databases page.

Document Supply

We are happy to obtain articles or books which we don't stock in our collections from elsewhere. For more details, see our Document Supply page, or email
