There are several ways to insert a reference for a book into your EndNote library. One simple way is to use an online catalogue, such as JISC Library Hub Discover (this is a combined catalogue of major academic and specialist libraries in the UK and Ireland).

If you have a folder of references downloaded as PDFs, it is possible to import the files into your EndNote Library. To do this:
EndNote will attempt to source the full details of the reference through cross referencing the reference's doi (digital object identifier) through multiple sources. However, if EndNote is unable to source the details of an article, you will need to insert the detail manually or export the reference from a database and then attach the PDF to that reference.
