RCSI Repository
RCSI Repository is an open access institutional repository of research and scholarly output of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
The repository aims to:
Publishing open access can help RCSI researchers fulfill their funding authority's open access mandate. Most Irish funding authorities, including Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), the Health Research Board (HRB) and Irish Research Council (IRC) now have an open access mandate - this means they require submission of published work funded (in whole or part) by them to an open access repository. Other funding authorities with open access policies include Wellcome and the European Research Council (ERC).
The RCSI Repository is integrated with the Research Information Management System (RIMS) and submissions to the repository can be made from your RIMS profile. More information on the repository and how to submit on the Repository Library Guide.
The repository is maintained and managed by RCSI Library. If you have queries or comments, feel free to contact the repository administrators (repository@rcsi.com).
The Library has undertaken several projects in order to make RCSI research output as open as possible, ensuring open access mandates are complied with and increasing RCSI research visibility internationally.
Examples:
We are happy to work with departments to increase their content in the repository. We will:
Example: In 2021, we worked collaboratively with researchers from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences and doubled content in the repository. A follow up project in 2022 also increased content significantly. The School’s repository output can be accessed here.
If you would like to work with us on a departmental project, contact the repository administrators (repository@rcsi.com).
We work with researchers to ensure that RCSI COVID-19 research is freely available on the repository as soon as possible. If we have missed your research, contact the repository administrators and we will work with you to make it available.
The resulting research can be found here and is also embedded in our Coronavirus COVID_19 Information Resources Library Guide
